They lost $2.8 billion in their PlayStation division (CPS). Losing that amount of money in Year 1 or 2 of the consoles life might be understandable give the razor/razor blade business model of the console industry. But to lose that much in Year 5? That is a serious problem.

Gears 3 sold all PS3 exclusives combined? You're wrong. DCI is right that no PS3 exclusive has outsold Gears 3, but it hasn't outsold GT5 which is "gasp" a PS3 exclusive. I rather have a company keep pumping out the exclusives rather than a company focusing on that casual kiddie Kinect crap while abandoning the core base that made them at the start of this gen.

Hey you should do more research gears of war 3 did not sell more than all the ps3 exclusives combined Gears sold 5 mil and uncharted 3 sold 4 million check vgchartz I know there not that accurate but they are close. both Resistance 3 and infamous 2 sold over a million.

Playstation users would be pissed if they did that. What they will do is add multiplayer and possibly Netflix as a part of PS Plus. MS is making too much money off of xbl. But seriously though, they aren't losing that much money in their games division, it's Sony as a whole that's losing money.

Kaz Harai is the Captain of the PlayTanic and is trying to keep the ship afloat after Ken Kuturagi hit that XBOX iceberg.

One thing that will save the PlayStation brand is the choice, if it's true, of AMD/ATI for CPU/GPU in the PlayStation 4. Instead of the Ken Kuturagi sponsored hardware design, just go with the flow. Make it a PC, essentially. Easy to develop for, easy to produce, etc.

Amazing how the arrogance of the PS2 era has led Sony to the almost the end of the road in the console business. Hopefully Kaz won't make that same mistake with the PS4.

How many Sony Fanboys are paying the subscription for DCUO? Yeah, that's what I thought. Way to support your brand!

Sony is a business, and businesses exists to provide return to shareholders. Business 101. They are not a fanboy fanclub.

But GUARANTEED you don't even mention that fact on the next podcast. And it's a very significant fact too. Sony's existing revenue model for the PlayStation brand is NOT making money.

I laugh every time you guys talk all serious about Microsoft dropping out of the console business. If that's what steadies your nerves while you watch Sony loss billions upon billions in the gaming division ... so be it.

It will be Sony dropping out long before Microsoft. Microsoft can easily afford to continue losing money on the XBOX (which they are not now) until Sony drops out. Microsoft will just Rope-A-Dope Sony, while their bitter fanboys, notoriously cheap and frugal, sit back and don't financially support their own brand. That's the problem. Amazing that you don't see it.

Heck, do you guys even have PSN Plus? You won't even support your own brand, yet you'll talk them up to the Nth degree.

But get ready! Only a total, blinders-on, fanboy fool believes that Sony is not looking at changing the free PSN model. And next generation is when they'll announce it. PS4 will not have free to play online. It will, without a doubt, be subscription based. And expect to see advertisements in the new XMB (not likely to called that, but I use it for arguments sake here).

It's coming........

That stuff is so PS2-era. Japan was eclipsed this generation by Western developers and publishers. Even the Japanese devs are saying it. So why play those turn based, narrow corridor games, when you can play the likes of:

Skyrim
Oblivion
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3
Red Dead Redemption
Borderlands

Next thing you you'll be telling me you still play those retread fighting games like Tekken and Street Fighter!

Seriously? F2P makes so little money. Check around the gaming industry. How many of the dozens of F2P games are still around and making any money. That was the latest developer/publisher FAD. What Sony needs to do is get the generally cheapskate PS3 fanboys to part with more of their money. Everything can't be free, my friend. Sony is a business, one that is on the rocks at the moment. Kaz Harai will be making hard choices in every single area of the company, including the gaming division.

My local Best Buy sold 3 PS-VITA's in the last 30 days. 3. And others report similar numbers. How to save the PSVITA?

1. Price cut to $199 and include memory stick
2. STOP porting crappy side scrolling gimmicky games to it!
3. Bring out COD, BF3, Skyrim type games for it.

C'mon. You're the XBOT on the podcast (allegedly). Where is the 360 love? I guess if I want some 360 fanboy love, I have to go to:
